About me

My name is Sister Kathryn Evelo, better known as Sr. Kay Jo. I grew up in Houston, Texas with my 4 brothers and 2 sisters. After high school I joined the Sisters of the Holy Spirit and Mary Immaculate in San Antonio, Texas. I have taught school for the past 55 years. My teaching career has been in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I have taught from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I was a principal for 23 years. This will be my 14th year at St. Rita. I taught P.E. for 5 years and 4th grade for 8 years. This year I am teaching Religion to 3 grades, substituting for teachers, Co-Athletic director and helping the Principal in many, many ways.

I love to coach, fish (I have yet to catch my first fish) and work on my "Family Tree". I have enjoyed my years at St. Rita. You and your children have brought much joy to my life. The children are great and so are the parents. I hope God has in His plan to keep me at St. Rita for many years to come.
