1st Grade

First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as acquiring new skills, especially phonetic skills.  First graders develop a great sense of wonder and awe at God’s gifts of creation, fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem solving, decision making skills and academic skills.
